Photo Recent thefts at Arlington Memory Gardens, Case #23-03073

Unfortunately, there have been numerous brass vases stolen from the Arlington Memory Gardens, located in the 3400 block of N Midwest Boulevard, within the last ten days.

The thefts occurred throughout the cemetery in different areas. The matter is under investigation, but we can use your help.

 BEWARE OF OFFICER IMPERSONATION

Recently, a male subject has been calling individuals impersonating Midwest City Police Department Detective Wade Ramsey. The subject is demanding a return phone call and his tone sounds as if the matter is very urgent. The caller ID of the phone number has been spoofed to appear to be from our Records Division.

Please, for your safety, always verify the phone number to be that of the police department if receiving a call from one of our officers.

REMINDER: The Midwest City Police Department will never request nor demand any payment of any kind over the phone.

IRS Impersonation Phone Scams Background

Numerous residents have received phone calls from IRS impersonators. The impersonators are threatening that the call receiver will be arrested if he or she does not comply. This scam, and other phone scams, will likely continue as long as people continue falling for them.

What To Do

Just hang-up; Do not provide them with any information.

If you believe that you might owe federal taxes, you can call the IRS at 1(800)829-1040 to confirm and/or work out arrangements.

For kids who live in MWC - Register Bicycle, Get Ice Cream!

We encourage kids who live in Midwest City to register their bicycles with the Midwest City Police Department. Just print the form, fill it out completely, and then turn the form into our Records office located at 100 N. Midwest Blvd. If they do so, they will receive a coupon for an ice cream treat. Adults can register theirs as well, but won't get a reward.

Lawnmower Thanks To A Recent Act Of Kindness, This 93 Year Old Resident Will Keep On Cutting It

Upon checking the welfare of Gladys, our Community Action Officers learned that her self-propelled lawn mower was broken. Gladys explained to them that she really enjoys mowing her yard, and does it as a form of exercise.
