The 24th Annual Renaissance Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The run is a collaboraton between the Midwest Regional Medical Center and the Midwest City Parks & Recreation Department.

Participants will begin behind the Midwest City Community Center, on National Ave. and will run/walk the 5k course through the Ridgecrest sub-division and end at the Midwest Regional Medical Center with a pancake breakfast.

The Renaissance Run is a 5k run/walk which begins on National Ave. (behind Midwest City Community Center), winds through Ridgecrest addition and ends at Midwest Regional Medical Center with a pancake breakfast.

The event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. USA Track & Field Rules include: baby joggers,strollers, pushed wheelchairs and wheels of any kind (except competitive wheelchairs in a separate race), headphones and animals are forbidden on the course.

A Community Spirit Award will be given to the teams who have the most walker/
runner entries. First, second and third place awards will be given. Any group can participate as a team — businesses, schools,churches, families and friends. Team registration deadline is September 10.

Team registrations do not need to be submitted together, but payment must accompany
each registration form and the team name must be indicated on the form. Team member
fees are the same as standard adult/child entrant fees.

Entrants will be placed in standard age brackets. First, second and third place winners
in each age bracket will receive medallions. Overall male and female winners will receive
trophies. Results will be posted the following Monday on www.oksportsandfitness.com.
