City announces 'Auto Pay' for online utility bill payment

The office of City Clerk has announced that it has just gotten easier for residents to pay their monthly utility bills.

According to Rhonda Atkins, City Clerk, residents can set up their utility bill account for 'Auto Pay', using their checking or savings account or credit/debit card, on the city's website.

The service works just like a bank draft, in that the funds for the utility bill is automatically taken from the residents account. 

To take advantage of this service, residents need to go to and click on the 'pay utility bill online' tool bar on the site's home page.  Residents already registered for the online bill pay will find the option to enroll listed under 'Auto Pay' on the left hand side, once they have logged on.

First time users must register for the online bill pay before being able to take advantage of the payment option. 

To learn when your bill would be automatically drafted from your account, refer to the cycle referenced on your bill. Draft dates cannot be changed once determined.

Cycle and draft dates:

Cycle 1 - 12th of each month
Cycle 2 - 16th of each month
Cycle 3 - 21st of each month
Cycle 4 - 26th of each month
Cycle 5 - 1st of each month
Cycle 6 - 6th of each month

Please note that when you enroll in 'Auto Pay', the feature will not take effect until the next billing cycle. If your statement is already being processed at the time you set up 'Auto Pay', you will need to pay the bill.
