Election Notice

A run-off election will be heald on May 11th, 2010 to determine the Ward 3 city council memeber to represent this district. The canidates are Espaniola Bowen and Rick Dawkins. The election will be open to all registered voters in Ward 3. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ward 3 includes the area between Reno and NE 10th Street, and East from Midwest Blvd.  

Municipal elections for the positions of Mayor and City Council are generally held on even-numbered years.

Non-partisan primary elections are held: 1st Tuesday in March, in even-numbered years.

Non-partisan general elections are held: 2nd Tuesday in May, in even-numbered years.

Qualifications for Candidates

• Must be at least 25 years old
• Must have been a resident of Midwest City for at least 1 year
• Must be a resident of the ward from which they are elected at the time of election

Terms

The terms of Mayor and Councilmembers shall begin at 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday after the time prescribed for the general election and continue for 4 years therafter.
