Recently, Eden Cove Apartments and Townhomes became the fifth multi-housing community to be certified as a Crime Free Community by the Midwest City Police Department (MWCPD). The Crime-Free Multi-Housing Program is one of the many efforts of the MWCPD to maintain order and peace within the community.
The Crime Free Multi-Housing Program is an eight hour three phase certification process which includes seminars on legal issues, safety, applicant screening and drug recognition. During the first phase of the process, applicants will also train in crime prevention, and property safety, such as properly installing security lighting and instruction on how to conduct fair housing.
Once the classes have been completed, phase two of the training will certify that the rental property has met the security requirements for the tenants' safety. Certification will consist of an on-site visit by the Crime Free staff.
Phase three of Crime-Free Multi-Housing certification includes a tenant crime prevention meeting. Properties successfully completing the program will be granted the use of large metal signs depicting the Crime Free logo for display on the property. The facility will also be granted the use of the program logo in all advertisements.
Eden Cove has met and completed all of these requirements and has earned the title of a Crime-Free Multi-Housing facility. Eden Cove is a 286 unit multi-housing community located at 3834 N. Oak Grove Drive in Midwest City. The property is owner/managed by New Life Multi-Family Management and is managed by Kathy Lanning. The owners have worked diligently with the Midwest City Police Department to achieve these high standards.
