Midwest City is celebrating Independence Day with the Tribute to Liberty on Saturday, July 4 at the Joe B. Barnes Regional Park from 6:00 to 10:30 p.m.

Organizers say there is something for everyone at the event.

"Participants will enjoy live music in the park and a spectacular fireworks display at dark," Midwest City Convention & Visitors Bureau Special Events Coordinator Susan MacQuarrie said.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., kids of all ages will love the amazing Uncle Sam on stilts and patriotic clowns making balloon animals. Uncle Sam will even be handing out American Flags, while supplies last.

Everyone will enjoy live music performed by Smilin' Vic and the Soul Monkeys (6-8 p.m.) and 4 Players Band (8-10 p.m.). Smilin' Vic will play your favorite songs from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, while 4 Players will treat listeners to music from the 80's, 90's and present day.

For the grand finale, stay and enjoy the fantastic display of aerial pyrotechnics in the Midwest City night sky. With each boom and burst you will experience Midwest City's Tribute to Liberty!
