Open Call For Musicians
The Midwest City Parks and Recreation Department will hold an open call for musicians April 18 – May 2 for multiple festivals and events held June – September.
Lunchtime & Tunes creates a relaxing atmosphere where patrons can enjoy lunch, hear some great tunes and take in the great outdoors in the beautiful Charles J. Johnson Central Park in Town Center Plaza. Musicians will be hired to perform on June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 8 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and are expected to provide their own sound.
Midwest Summer Fest is a new family-friendly festival featuring live entertainment, movies in the park, exciting yard games, food trucks and more. The festival will be held at Charles J. Johnson Central Park in Town Center Plaza on June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 8. Musicians will be hired to perform 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and are expected to provide their own sound for these performances.
Tribute to Liberty is a family-centered patriotic celebration featuring musical concerts, food trucks and fireworks display. The event will take place in Joe B. Barnes Regional Park on July 4 at 6 p.m. The opening artist is expected to perform until 8 p.m.
Mid-America Street Fest is a family-friendly festival complete with carnival games and rides, children’s tent, pony rides, petting zoo, shopping, food trucks and live entertainment. The festival will be held in Charles J. Johnson Central Park on September 30. Musicians will be scheduled in the following time slots providing for 15 minute set changes: noon – 1 p.m., 1:15 – 2:15 p.m., 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., 3:45 – 4:45 p.m., and 5 – 6 p.m.
The benefits of performing at City of Midwest City hosted events include financial compensation, exposure to targeted audiences and social media and web site promotion.
All genres will be considered and a sampling of genres will be chosen for all events where applicable.
