Important information regarding changes at the Transfer Station and
the opening of the new City Compost Facility
After Saturday, May 7th, residents will not be allowed to bring grass clippings, leaves, green waste, brush and woody material to the Transfer Station any longer. These materials must be taken to the new MWC compost facility, located at 7420 N.E. 36th ST. The compost facility will begin accepting material on Tuesday, May10th.
What items will be accepted at the new compost facility?
Other forms of green waste
Size restrictions on wood material: the length of woody material must not exceed eight (8) feet and the diameter must not exceed 20". If grass, leaves and green waste are delivered to the facility in plastic bags, the owner will have to remove it from the bag. Facility will accept paper yard waste bags.
Proof of residency: All residents utilizing the compost facility or the Transfer Station must bring their most recent MWC utility bill and current driver’s license as proof of residency.

No appointment necessary, each Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
