Tornado Recovery Information

Tornado Damage

TRASH COLLECTION CONCERNS

If your trash was scheduled for collection on Tuesday and your cart was blown away or your scheduled collection was missed, please contact our Public Works Department at 739-1066 for assistance.

ROOF REPAIRS

If you need a tarp to protect your roof from rain, we may be able to assist you with help to get a tarp placed on your roof. Give us a call at 739-1386.

If your roof was damaged by the tornado,  please note that any roofing repairs or replacements need to be done by a licensed roofing contractor (license with both the state and city) and will require a permit and inspection.  If you or your contractor let us know that the permit/inspection is related to the storm, we can make sure you get an expedited inspection. If you have questions, contact our Building Services Department at 739-1211.

The Midwest City Police Department recommends that you always verify that contractors are certified, licensed and bonded with the State of Oklahoma. Check references for the contractor or worker. Avoid out of state contractors. If you enter into an agreement with a contractor, get the specifics in writing i.e. when the payments are to be paid.

ELECTRICAL SERVICE REPAIRS

If your electrical service was damaged, repairs need to be made by a licensed electrician (state and city) and will require a permit and inspection. If you or your contractor let us know, we can make sure you get an expedited inspection. If you have questions, contact our Building Services Department at 739-1211.

PROGRAMS FOR ASSISTANCE

We have two programs that may be able to assist eligible homeowners (based on income requirements) with storm damage repairs to your home:  the Primary Systems Home Repair and the Housing Rehab Loan. Find information online or contact our Grants Management Department at 739-1216.
