2020 City Council Election for Wards 2, 4 and 6

There will be a municipal election for City Council members for four-year terms for Wards 2, 4 and 6 on February 11, 2020. Here's some information about the election:

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be a qualified elector (voter) of the City of Midwest City
  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Have been a resident of the City of Midwest City for at least one year preceding the election
  • At the time of the election be a resident in good faith of the respective ward from which he or she is elected

Filing Date

December 2,3, and 4, 2019

Election Dates

February 11, 2020 (Non-Partisan Primary) and April 7, 2020 (Non-Partisan General)

  • If two people file for an office, the one with the most votes in the primary will win the election.
  • If there are more than two people who file for an office, the two with the most votes will advance to the general election.  

Procedures

Candidates will file a sworn statement of candidacy with the Secretary of the Oklahoma County Election Board. The filing dates are December 2, 3 and 4. The Oklahoma County Election Board is located at 4201 N. Lincoln Blvd, Oklahoma City 73015.

Who Can Vote

All registered voters residing in Wards 2, 4 and 6 of the city will be able to vote for the council member to represent the ward in which they live to serve a four-year term of office.
