75th Anniversary Christmas Ornament

Shop early for Christmas - To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the City of Midwest City and Tinker Air Force Base, the 75th committee has a beautiful special edition Christmas ornaments for sale at the MWC Welcome Center, located at 7200 S.E. 29th ST. The cost is $15 each and quantities are limited.

Star Spangled Salute Air Show set for May 20-21

Tinker Air Force Base (TAFB) will once again present the Star Spangled Salute Air Show on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21.
The event is free to the public.  TAFB gates will open at 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. both days of the event.  To view a map of the parking access, please go to 
One of the highlights of the show will be the United States Air Force (USAF) Thunderbirds.  The history of the Thunderbirds goes back to 1953 when the team was activated at Luke Air Force Base, Ar.  Since then, the Thunderbirds have entertained millions of people across America and in foreign countries.  To learn more about the USAF Thunderbirds, go to 
Other aerial demonstrations throughout the 2-day event will include, but not be limited to: Team Tinker, USAFA Wings of Blue, B-2 flyby (Saturday only), Vietnam Search & Rescue Reinactment, Lady Liberty A-26 and much more.
The very popular static displays will also be on hand as the public can take an up-close view of many of the planes and equipment used by the US Air Force and Team Tinker. These displays will be available to view from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
A Kid Zone with inflatables and activities will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, with the purchase of a wrist band.  Additionally, food and drink concessions will be available at various locations throughout the air show area and free water will be available to the public at marked stations.

Reno Swim & Slide

Annual Mommy and Son Luau scheduled for June 9

The annual Mommy and Son Luau has been scheduled for Friday, June 9 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.  
This event, sponsored by the Midwest City Parks and Recreation Department will be held at the Reno Swim and Slide, 101 S. Douglas Blvd.
The luau is a private, after-hours pool party for mommies and sons ages 3 to 14 only.  Proper swimwear is required and all pool rules will be enforced.
Tickets to the luau are $5.00 each and may be purchased at the Nick Harroz Community Center, located at 200 N. Midwest Blvd, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or online at  Tickets include a hotdog, chips and a drink.

Reno Swim & Slide will open on Saturday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m.  Pool passes are on sale now at the Nick Harroz Community Center, located at 200 N. Midwest Blvd.  Office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
