Overview
The Park Board was created by an act of the council in 1972. The purpose of the Park and Recreation Board is to foster and promote the maintenance and operation of city parks and recreation facilities. The board is comprised of residents of the City appointed by the Council, assisted by representatives of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council, and serve three year terms.
