Grants Management
The Grants Management Department utilizes grant resources to leverage and provide a wide range of projects, services and programs that benefit the Midwest City community.
Midwest City has received Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development annually since 1978, supporting many new and ongoing housing, public service, slum/blight and capital improvement projects that benefit the low to moderate income community.
Other competitive government grant programs are identified at the federal, state, county and local levels, along with various private granting agencies. The grants staff provides public need referrals, manages grant activities, partners with other departments in implementing grant projects and provides technical assistance to departments managing their own grant processes. Other functions of the Grants Management Department range from participation to oversight of various special projects in housing, community development, neighborhood revitalization, data analysis, LIHTC development, economic development, disaster recovery, youth issues, public facilities, senior activities, public transportation and social service programs.
