CAC Annual Needs Meeting
The Citizens Advisory Committee on Housing and Community Development (CAC) was created to solicit and encourage members of the community to have input on the needs and priorities addressed by the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in Midwest City. Where as that is the constant goal of the CAC, annually we conduct a "Needs Meeting" where we advertise and hold a public hearing to encourage input from the community!
All of the comments received at the meeting and in writing (see email address below) will be incorporated into our annual action plan, and in the case of our current planning cycle our 5 year consolidated plan.
Needs that can be addressed by the CDBG Program must one of 3 goals AND one of 3 national objectives.
Goals of the the CDBG program are: 1.) Provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing 2.) Provide a suitable living environment and to 3.) Expand economic opportunities.
Program National objectives are: 1) Benefit low and moderate income persons, 2.) Aid in the prevention of slums and blight, 3.) Meet an urgent community need that threatens the health or welfare of residents.
If you feel like you know of a need in our community we welcome you email your comments to grantsmgmt@midwestcityok.org or attend the meeting in person and voice your concerns there!
