Midwest City Will Follow the Governor's Open Up and Recover Safely Plan
Midwest City Emergency Ordinance 3406 addressing operating hours and City procedures for commercial enterprises during the health emergency was modified by the City Council at their April 28 meeting. The modification states that the City of Midwest City will implement the Open Up and Recover Safely (OURS) plan for city businesses.
Midwest City is committed to enforcing the protocols and guidelines set out by the OURS plan. The modified Ordinance 3406 calls for personal care service businesses, dining facilities and other non-essential businesses as they reopen to require that employees wear masks while interacting with customers and fellow employees.
In addition, all dining facilities will be required to take measures to check employees’ temperatures before their work shifts begin. All workers who are possibly sick with COVID-19 symptoms (fever over 100.4F) are required to stay home or be sent home immediately.
“Other organizations and businesses can plan to reopen or staff workplaces based on future dates included in the OURS plan as they are announced,” City Manager Tim Lyon said.
City offices will reopen to the public on Monday but individuals will need to wear a mask in order to enter the City facilities.
Residents who have questions can call 739-1297 or 739-1289 during normal business hours.
