Utility Customer Service
The city offers bulk trash pickup 4 times a year to each resident. To see when your bulk pickup is, please visit Curbside-Bulk-Waste-Collection.
Charges are based on number in household until usage can be determined on the water usage during the months of November, December, January, and February. Since we are unable to meter sewer, we average your winter water consumption. We take the winter months of November through February and average the water usage to apply as the sewer rate every July. This could cause an increase, decrease, or sometimes no change in the sewer rate. The rates stay in effect from July of the current year until July of the next year.
After 5 years of good service or once the account is terminated, any money due will be deducted from the deposit and the remaining balance will be refunded to the customer. However, if your account is ever processed for cutoff a new deposit will be required.
No. If the lock is cut-off prior to city staff removing it a tampering fee of $200 will be applied to the account. Our staff will work to get services restored as soon as possible.
Yes. If the meter reader is unable to obtain a reading due to the meter being covered by snow, ice, high brush, or another object blocking the meter then the bill will be estimated. Estimating is very rare; as the meter is read every month through our automatic meter reading system.
You must contact Customer Service to terminate your utility account. Minimum monthly charges will continue to incur until the account has been taken out of your name. Just because service was turned off for non-payment doesn't mean the account was terminated.
If the utility account is shut-off for non-payment and we haven’t received payment within a week of being disconnected. Once an account reaches checklist, the past due and current bill are owed.

In the event any customer fails to pay their bill by the close of business of the 25th day of the billing date, the water service will be processed for cut-off and a $30 fee is applied immediately to the account. This is an administrative fee assessed for the account evaluation and adjustments that are required due to the late payment.
Due to the risk of unpaid balances on an account that has had more than 4 cut-offs in a 12 month period, City Ordinance requires an additional deposit of $50.
Waste
No, only household chemicals are accepted.
To avoid messy spills in your vehicle or driveway, bring materials securely packed in sturdy containers such as cardboard boxes, plastic crates or totes. Garbage bags are not suitable containers. Materials in garbage bags tip over, leak and mix together which has the possibility of producing toxic gases.
No, city personnel will unload the vehicle for you.
A valid driver's license and current municipal utility bill must be presented to the attendant before any items can be accepted.
No, other than the appointed days, there are no designated employees assigned to receive the waste.
Disposal of HHW is free for Midwest City residents. Residents of communities with an MOU must check with their respective City Halls.
Improper disposal of household hazardous wastes includes pouring them down the drain, on the ground, in storm sewers or discarding them in the trash. The dangers of such disposal may not be immediately obvious, but certain household hazardous wastes can contaminate septic tanks or wastewater treatment systems; harm children or pets and cause injury to sanitation workers. Pollution of our local creeks and streams occurs when the household hazardous waste is poured or dumped into our storm drains.
