The City of Midwest City is currently accepting applications for Fire Prevention Officer (CRRS) in the Fire Department. Under the general direction of the Fire Marshal, the Community Risk Reduction Specialist will assist in the vision and development of a Community Risk Analysis (CRA). This individual will promote, coordinate and conduct activities and programs which will educate or train community and department members concerning fire, life safety, injury prevention, fire extinguisher and other dimensions of fire department activities. The CRR Specialist will be responsible for driving the Community Risk Reduction program and adapt it to the current needs of our community. This position will work with the Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, and Shift Commanders to analyze the differing response districts in order to support the mission and vision of the Midwest City Fire Department in our Community Risk Reduction efforts. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, valid Oklahoma drivers license and be insurable. Any applicant attaining the position of Fire Prevention Officer must be certified as an IFSAC or Pro Board Inspector I and successfully complete a fire investigation training within one (1) year of attaining this position, as approved by the Fire Chief. Must meet the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement entrance requirements. All Applicants must successfully complete a National Testing Network written and CPAT exam prior to 09/19/2022 to be considered. This position is designated safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting salary: $90,789.17/yr. w/benefits.
