Winter Weather Updates & Tips

Due to inclement weather and equipment failure, trash, recycling, and bulk waste services for this week Midwest City have been postponed. For the full schedule of pickup, please click here.

The Midwest City Senior Center will be closed Tuesday, February 16th, and Wednesday, February 17th.

The 2021 Virtual State of the City has been postponed to Wednesday, February 24th. For more information, including the Zoom meeting basics, click here.

Daddy Daughter Date Box pickup has been postponed to February 18th from 4-7 p.m. and February 19th from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Reed Conference Center. To purchase a date night box for $15, click here.

Due to inclement weather and animal safety, the Animal Welfare Building will be closed to the public Tuesday, February 16th.

The biggest concern will be temperatures and wind chill accompanied by snowdrifts and visibility.

No power outages are expected from this event.

City road crews will be working throughout the day and night.

We are discouraging road travel and those involved in minor vehicle accidents should exchange information.

Please report any animals or people in a hazardous situation due to this weather event by calling 911.

Police calls are of non-emergency nature we will try to handle by phone.

Do not use extension cords with space heaters and keep 3’ of clearance around them.

Water line maintenance crews are NOT responding to residential complaints of "no water". The city is not  experiencing any interruptions in the city water services.  Water issues at the residence are the owners responsibility.

A message from OG& E's website: "As directed by Southwest Power Pool, we have initiated temporary service interruptions in parts of the following areas: Oklahoma City, Muskogee, Tishomingo, Norman, Edmond, Pauls Valley, Enid, Woodward, Glenpool, Yukon, Ardmore, Kingston, Guthrie, Hennessey, Midwest City, Sapulpa, El Reno, Del City, Choctaw, Bethany, Warr Acres, and Fort Smith, AR. Service interruptions are mandated by SPP in order to manage regional system load. The estimated duration of the service interruption is approximately two hours."
