Ryan Rushing Named Director of Operations

The City of Midwest announces the promotion of Ryan Rushing to the director of operations.
Rushing, who has been the city’s director of information technology since 2006, was recently named to the newly-created position.

“Ryan’s experience and broad knowledge of the functions of the city as well as his leadership skills made him the ideal selection for this new position,” said City Manager Tim Lyon.

Lyon noted that Rushing will be overseeing the departments of Information Technology, Court and Juvenile Probation, Neighborhood Services, Emergency Operations/ 911, Communications and Marketing, and Finance.

Rushing started his career with Midwest City in information technology in 1999. In 2006, he was promoted to the department’s director where he was responsible for overseeing the infrastructure of technology operations through the city organization.  

“Over the past twenty years, I’ve enjoyed serving the dedicated employees of the city,” Rushing said. “I am looking forward to continuing to help our employees and community in this new position. We have an amazing team and I am humbled to be part of it.”

Rushing has a bachelor of business administration and management Information Systems degree as well as a masters of business administration, which he earned from Oklahoma Christian University in 2011.

“As I look back over the past twenty years, it’s exciting to see how far we have come, “Rushing said. “I am eager to see what we can achieve in the next twenty years,”
