2022 Ward Redistricting

PUBLIC NOTICE: City Council Ward Redistricting Map Approved on 8.23.2022 

This Public Notice is hereby given by the City of Midwest City pursuant to the requirements in Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statutes, Section 20- 101 et seq., that the boundaries of the current wards as described in Section 14- 1 of the City Ordinances of the City of Midwest City are proposed to be changed.

Based on the results of the certified 2020 Federal Census and the changes in the population of the City of Midwest City, the current boundaries of the wards located within the City of Midwest City do not meet the requirements of Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statues, Section 20- 101, in that the wards are no longer "substantially equal in population." The proposed modified ward boundary lines will meet the requirements of Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statutes, Section 20- 101, as they will be substantially equal in population" as that term has been defined under Oklahoma Law.

The proposed changes to the boundaries of the wards of the City of Midwest City will be discussed at the City Council meeting scheduled for July 26, 2022. The public is invited to attend and provide comments to the proposed changes to the ward boundaries. The City Council will discuss, consider and vote on the proposed changes to the ward boundaries at the August 23, 2022 City Council Meeting. The public is invited to attend and provide comments to the proposed ward boundary changes at this City Council Meeting.

This public notice is provided at least thirty( 30) days prior to the discussion, consideration and vote on the proposed changes to the ward boundaries as required by Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statutes, Section 20- 103.
