Municipal Warrant Amnesty Program Available Through April 30
An amnesty program is available now offering those with an outstanding municipal warrant the opportunity to significantly reduce the cost of clearing it. This is an effort by Midwest City Municipal Court to reduce over 12,000 outstanding warrants from their system. The program will be available through April 30, 2023. Some restrictions apply (see details below):
- Warrants that are at least two (2) years old are eligible for the program.
- The amount of the warrant will be cut in half, but payment in full is required.
By implementing this program, Municipal Court hopes to encourage individuals with outstanding warrants to come forward and resolve their legal issues. The program was last offered in February 2012.
"Clearing out older warrants relieves stress on our system, but it also relieves stress for those who have a warrant issued," said Vicki Floyd, Midwest City Prosecutor. "We encourage anyone who knows that they have a warrant issued, please just contact us and ask for help."
