Fire Prevention
The Midwest City Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau consists of the Fire Marshal and 3 Inspectors/Investigators. The effort each of these individuals puts forth daily is dedicated to saving lives, preventing fires and reducing injuries.
The normal duties of each Inspector/Investigator include public education, inspecting every commercial structure in our city, investigating fires for origin and cause determination, reviewing and commenting on all new and remodel construction projects and performing construction inspections. Other duties include attending construction meetings, testing and inspecting fire protection systems and answering hazard complaints.
Each of the Inspectors/Investigators serve the city in a specialty format beyond their normal duties. These duties include coordinating public education activities, coordinating all the hazardous materials in businesses including oil and gas well sites, water distribution systems and statistics.
