Extra Recycling Carts to be Collected Starting August 1

On August 1, the City of Midwest City’s recycling contractor, Republic Services, will begin picking up residents’ additional free carts. Residents will continue to have one 96-gallon recycling cart per household.

Midwest City residents are asked to place all of their recycling carts at the curb on their first recycling pick-up date in August. Republic Services will leave one cart and collect any extra carts.

Republic Services previously allowed customers to use additional carts at no extra charge but have recently changed their policy on additional carts.

Since additional carts have been provided at no charge in the past, the City’s current contract with Republic Services does not have a provision for residents to request more than one cart for an extra monthly fee.
 
Each household receives curbside collection of the 96-gallon recycling cart every two weeks, coinciding with the regularly scheduled trash collection.
