Curbside Recycling
Curbside recycling began July 1, 2013. In January 2013 the Municipal Authority took a big step towards becoming a greener community by approving a curbside recycling program for residents throughout the city limits of Midwest City. The program is referred to as a co-mingled, single-stream system. This means that you do not have to separate your recyclable products.
All acceptable products go into the provided 96 gallon wheeled and lidded container. All you have to do is roll your cart to the curbside for collection. Collection of recycled products is biweekly and will coincide with your sanitation pick-up schedule, except that the recycling pick-up will be every other week.
Because of the curbside recycling program, some residents may not need their current 96 gallon sanitation poly-carts any longer. In these instances, the city is offering residents the opportunity to trade the large cart in for a smaller 65 gallon cart. The use of the 65 gallon cart will lower utility bills by $1.25 per month. If you are interested in trading for the smaller cart, please contact customer service at 405-739-1252.
