Midwest City partners with many organizations in the community to bring these services to you and make these services available to low- to moderate-income families.

Elementary School Tutoring Program

Neighborhoods in Action is hosting a math and reading tutoring program for children K - 5 that are behind as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic . Children must be Midwest City residents. At-Risk Youth/Family Program

The At-Risk Youth/Family Program assists youth and families through outreach and counseling. This activity is provided by Mid-Del Youth and Family Center and strives to promote mentally and physically healthy children and families.
 

Autumn House Social Services Program

The Autumn House Social Services Program supports the social service, facility, transportation, and nutritional needs of low-income elderly residents
 

Before/After School Scholarships

Before/After School scholarships assist in meeting the physical, emotional, social, health, nutritional and psychological needs of school-age children of low/mod families. Latchkey Child Services provides scholarships for before and after-school child care at Midwest City elementary schools.
 

Child Care/ Early Childhood Education

Child Care/ Early Childhood Education is provided by 2 facilities:

  • Steed Head Start at 2118 Flannery
  • DB Cooper Head Start at 9300 NE 10th Street

Facilities were constructed in 1995 and 1998 and are supported by Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma/ Canadian counties.

 

Homeless Services /Transitional Housing

Leah’s Hope is a local transitional housing program that also provides needed services, classes and case management. CDBG provides a portion of operating cost for their transitional annex.
