Resources for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals

Thanks to our valuable partnership with Oklahoma City Emergency Management, we are able to offer access to the AHAS system for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Oklahoma City is partnering with Deaf Link to provide the Accessible Hazard Alert System (AHAS) which will send accessible alert messages to registered residents who are Deaf, Blind, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf/Blind before, during, and after an emergency or disaster in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City AHAS subscribers in an area affected by an emergency or disaster will be able to receive an accessible alert message in American Sign Language (ASL) and English voice and text. The alert message could include information about the emergency and what actions to take.

Oklahoma City AHAS will send accessible alert messages to internet and video capable devices such as computers, mobile phones, and tablet computers. AHAS alerts are also Braille reader accessible.

Prepare, Plan, and Stay Informed. Complete the Oklahoma City AHAS signup form https://okc.ahasalerts.com/register.aspx to receive alerts messages in accessible formats.

Please call the Emergency Management office at 405-739-1386 if you have any questions or concerns.
