Trick or Treat Guidance for Parents and Treat-Givers

The City of Midwest City will continue its practice of encouraging trick-or-treating on Halloween, which is Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Residents who wish to participate can show their support by turning on their porch lights from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

It is recommended that all trick-or-treat activities end by 9 p.m.

The following best practices are recommended for Trick-or-Treaters:

• Stay home if you are sick
• Use hand sanitizer frequently while trick-or-treating

The following safety tips are recommended for Treat-Givers:

• Do not hand out candy if you are sick
• Wash your hands frequently or use sanitizer frequently while handing out candy
• Refrain from having children select their own treats from a bowl or common container

Recommendations for Parents/Guardians include:

• Keep your family at home if someone is sick
• Talk to your children about safety
• Wash hands as soon as you return home
• Allow children to eat only factory-wrapped treats
• Avoid homemade treats
